I think that it’s an awesome event that can have a lasting impact on young people and adults. What would you like to tell others about Have you seen GOD work through an Underground Church Event? I have seen young people in my youth groups over the years come to know Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Saviour that probably wouldn’t have in a regular church service. Staff Position Underground Church Guy Number of Years of Service I have served in some aspect of Youth Ministry since 1994, from Youth Sunday School Director to Minister To Youth, and now Underground Church Starter.. How did you come to know about Underground Church? From the IDEAS Library from Youth Specialties, and then seeing and participating in one at Mission-Fuge, Mobile Alabama. It was a very condensed version (we only had 30 minutes or so to play). Between those two experiences, the LORD laid on my heart (HEAVILY) to do our own version, and it grows and grows by HIS MIGHTY HAND!! What convinced you to conduct an At that time, my Youth, became LAX in their attendance and devotion to GOD's HOUSE, so we thought it would be a great WAKE-UP CALL to them, to that some don't have the BLESSING AND PRIVILEGE WE HAVE IN COMING TO CHURCH FREELY!! It was a WAKE-UP CALL TO US (ADULTS) ALSO! WE TAKE OUR FREEDOM TO WORSHIP FOR GRANTED JUST LIKE OUR YOUTH DO!! Also, GOD showed us that HE CAN SAVED TEENS/ADULTS THROUGH UNDERGROUND CHURCH TOO!! (HE REALLY DOESN'T NEED US!! WE NEED HIM!!) What do you think of Underground Church now since you've had your event? It's AWESOME! GOD has done MIGHTY things through this special event. And as long as the LORD tarries, my prayer is to do at least one UC every year until HE comes again! What would you like to tell others about If you haven't scheduled your entire year (or even if you have), please make time for this event! This will make you or break you !! It will be something your youth/adults will NOT forget! Please come to one or two, and then start your own! We will help in any way we can!! Have you seen GOD work through an Underground Church Event? I have seen many adults from different churches come together in one accord, in one mind, to bring the Gospel to young people in this special way! We have seen GOD change lives forever! I have seen workers have a NEW APPRECIATION FOR their church, church family, GOD'S WORD, AND GOD HIMSELF! Anything else you'd like to add?? I can't stress it enough! Please come to a UC event near you. You will be glad you did! And you probably will come back the next year too!! |

When I went to church at Liberty Baptist, Stu was the Youth Pastor and we helped put on Underground Church, in Muhlenburg Co. and in Earlington. What convinced you to conduct an The number of salvations and decisions that were made for God in previous Underground Church Events. What do you think of Underground Church now since you've had your event? It was an awesome experience. You must have a lot of dedicated volunteers. Anything else you'd like to add?? I have seen God work in awesome ways through Underground Church. I don't think I've been to a Underground Church yet when there were less than 10 decisions made for Christ. |

BAPTIST CHURCH Staff Position: PASTOR Number of Years of Service: 13 YEARS JULY 15, 2008 How did you come to know about Underground Church? RECEIVED INFO IN MAIL OR THROUGH THE INTERNET. GIVE INFO TO CASEY FOWLER. WE DECIDED TO TAKE A GROUP FROM OUR CHURCH TO OLIVE BRANCH FOR THE EXPERIENCE. What convinced you to conduct an Underground Church event at your church? THE HOLY SPIRIT SPOKE TO CASEY AND ME AT THE SAME TIME TO BRING THE UC TO CHRISTIAN COUNTY. EVERYONE SAID WE NEEDED TO WAIT UNTIL THE FALL OF 2007 BUT WE WERE LED TO DO IT IN THE SPRING. GOD WAS IN IT ALL THE WAY AND ALL WORKED WELL. WE HAD 16 PROFESSIONS OF FAITH AND 103 REDEDICATIONS AT OUR FIRST UC IN 2007. What do you think of Underground Church now since you've had your event? IN TWO UC EVENTS IN TWO YEARS WE HAVE HAD 34 PROFESSIONS OF FAITH AND 197 REDEDICATIONS. IT HAS BROUGHT OUR CHURCH CLOSER TOGETHER AND A COMMON PURPOSE. WE ALSO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO WORK WITH OTHERS CHURCHES AND CHRISTIANS WITH THIS SAME COMMON PURPOSE. THE COMMON PURPOSE IS REACHING SOULS FOR CHRIST AND BUILDING THE KINGDOM OF GOD. What would you like to tell others about Underground Church? IT HAS GIVEN ME ENERGY TO CARRY OUT THE CALLING THAT GOD HAS GIVEN ME. IT HAS ALLOWED ME TO SEE THE GROWTH OF A YOUNG CHRISTIAN, CASEY FOWLER, WHO I HAVE MUCH RESPECT. I BELIEVE THAT IT IS WORTH THE WORK TO PUT THE UC ON IN OUR COMMUNITY. Baptist Church Hopkinsville KY Staff Position: Youth Leader Number of Years of Service: 5 How did you come to know about Underground Church? I received a flyer from my pastor it seemed interesting so we decided to take a small group from our church to Hanson in October 2006. What convinced you to conduct an Underground Church event at your church? The Underground Church was the most powerful evangelism outreach event, I have ever been a part of, the game touched the lives of young and old alike from our group…you could look around the church the following Sunday and it was apparent that those that played had a much greater appreciation about being in the Lord’s house worshiping. The Lord laid it on both mine and my pastor’s heart to bring the game to Hopkinsville. I was skeptical at first about finding volunteers and time to have such an event but the Lord led us every step of the way and now we are looking forward to having the event every year for the next 11 chapters maybe even starting over at chapter 1 when we have finished. What do you think of Underground Church now since you've had your event? To see 200 – 300 teenagers falling on their knees, giving testimonies, and coming worship him on Saturday night, is nothing I can explain, it's something you have to experience for yourself. I will say that the Underground Church is a powerful game that will make you think and honestly my life and relationship with the Lord has been total transformed since I first played. What would you like to tell others about Underground Church? If you have not attended a Underground Church, please come join us in the Madisonville area in the fall of 2008 or Hopkinsville in the Spring 2009, trust me your walk with Christ will become closer than you ever imagined. Anything else you'd like to add?? At our first Hopkinsville Underground Church in 2007 there were 16 professions of faith and again in April 2008 there was 18 professions of faith and 92 rededications…I think the game speaks for itself. |

I have had a long standing relationship with Stu Wilcox and He first ran his ideas by pass me over 15 years ago. I was first apprehensive about the guns in the church but Stu pointed out to me that the fact that it made me uncomfortable was the point. I don't want something like this to happen in the future I need to draw attention to it now. What convinced you to conduct an Underground Church event at your church? What convinced me to conduct an Underground Church was being a part of several in the past and seeing the great results that Gods Holy Spirit performed through them. What do you think of Underground Church now since you've had your event? I am convinced even more of it's powerful message and plan on it being a yearly event at Cedar Grove. What would you like to tell others about Underground Church? The game works at bringing young and old through your doors and they hear the Gospel. We had 18 saved and 116 rededications Anything else you'd like to add?? I have seen God work in every aspect of the Game. It is a tool that the Holy Spirit can really work with to make a difference in a person's life. |
