I’m
writing about the UC event at
Trinity Baptist in Hopkinsville, that was held April 26, 2008. I
attended with two friends from my
church. I call myself a dedicated Christian, but I must say I had a
dose of reality that night and I know many others did as well as the
terrorists burst through the doors of the church. I felt real fear,
even though I knew it was staged. I had all sorts of thoughts run
through my mind, one of which “ Would I stand up and be counted if
this really happened in my church?” Or would I shrink back in fear
and deny Christ? I also see more clearly what many of the Body faces
each day as they live out their faith. I want to pray even more for
them and thank God for the freedom we have here in America. Mike McGill - Cerulean Baptist Church |
| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I can remember the first Underground Church I attended. I felt many emotions. The strongest and most convicting was: "This could happen to me" and asking myself "Would I deny CHRIST if I was going to be persecuted." I can recall when I was caught and put in prison, and how mean the guard was, before being killed, the guard kept saying terrible things about CHRIST and telling me he was going to kill me if I confessed by love for JESUS. I instantly thought of Paul and Silas in the Bible, so I started giving praises and sharing my love for CHRIST before he killed us. As I waited in prison to be killed, I couldn't help but think of all the real martyrs in the world, right now, that are sacrificing their life at this very moment for CHRIST, and want to tell the world that JESUS CHRIST died for their sins. This really got me thinking. That night I examined my life, my testimony to others, the GREAT COMMISSION; Matthew 28:18-20, especially since we all are here for such a short time. As I drove home, that night, I thanked my HEAVENLY FATHER for my life, my Salvation, and the unconditional love CHRIST had for me. GOD is an AWESOME GOD, I encourage everyone to go to the UNDERGROUND CHURCH. It is realistic and an experience you do not want to miss. Karen Shepherd, Cerulean Baptist Church |
